Bennett’s Beef Brisket

Everybody has their favorite brisket recipe.  This is one of ours.  The balanced sweet and spicy flavor of Bennett’s Chili Sauce, with its unique combination of sweet relish, peppers, onions, and other spices, is the star of this recipe and can also enhance your favorite recipe!

Ingredients

Brisket: Approximately 5 pounds, first cut
Bennett's Chili Sauce: 2 twelve fl. oz. bottles
Water: 24 oz
Lipton onion soup mix: 1-1/2 packets
Sugar: 3 TB
Carrots: 4 to 6 large carrots peeled and cut into large chunks
Salt and Pepper: to Taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all the ingredients (except the brisket and carrots) in a large bowl and set aside.
Put the brisket into a large size oven cooking bag (same size as used for turkey). Add the carrots. Add the chili sauce, soup mixture and seal the bag.
Place the bag into a large pan. Pierce the bag a few times with a fork.
Cook for 3 to 3.5 hours. Remove from oven and let brisket sit in bag 15 minutes before opening the bag. Open bag carefully.
Slice the brisket, pour sauce over the meat, serve, and enjoy!
