Hoffman House History
If Wisconsin were known for beer and cheese, Hoffman House would be a close third. A centerpiece at every family gathering for generations, the brand represented special dinners at grandma’s house or in a naugahyde booth at the neighborhood Supper Club.
Hoffman House owes its heritage to a successful restaurant chain, dating back to 1946 with one restaurant in Madison and growing to 11 throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. Attached to motels, the restaurants gained a reputation with road travelers for over half a century.
Hoffman House cocktail sauces were so popular, they were sold into grocery stores in 1949 and continued as a Wisconsin staple until 2019.
Today, we are proud to bring back this Wisconsin tradition in two of their most popular flavor profiles, Shrimp & Seafood and Tartar Sauce.
